Today marks the first day of a new series of posts I will be doing about how to minimize those areas of the body we may not be so crazy about. It's called "Slimmer by Saturday" because these posts will include instant fixes for your most troubling body issues - thanks to some sneaky styling tips. And today, it's all about the muffin top.
What to wear
A-shaped and Empire shaped tops - Nice and fitted around the bust, and gently flared at the bottom to disguise your problem area.
Tiered tops - The layers of ruffles help disguise any midriff issues.
Ruched tops - Same effect as the tiered top, the tons of tiny gathers in a ruched top disguise your muffin top.
Upper body shapewear - Need I say more?! A control camisole should be your BFF.
Embellished or printed cardigans - Embellishments and prints always distract from lumps or bumps, and if worn open, an embellished or printed cardigan does double duty by not clinging to the muffin top.
What not to wear
Baggy tops - Just because it's bigger, doesn't make it better. It will just make you look larger than you really are.
Cropped tops - This should go without saying, but I still see it all the time.Even if they are layered over longer tops - don't do it!
Dresses with defined waistbands - It will just emphasize your muffin top because it will be forced to squeeze around the waist. Go for empire style, a-line dresses instead.
Low rise jeans - This will just squeeze your muffin top up. You need to go for a higher rise. Not "Mom Jeans" rise though. The ideal rise is for you is about 9 inches.
