Holiday Dress Codes...De-Coded

It's that time of year! You most likely have a number of events to attend to celebrate the holiday season, and it can become a bit overwhelming to figure out what to wear to each one - especially if the dress codes vary.

Here's a little cheat sheet to know what they all mean...

Informal - This means dressy casual, and is appropriate when attending a holiday house party or after work holiday get together. A nice pair of dark wash jeans with a dressier top, or a casual dress like a wrap dress are both great options. Add some sparkly accessories to up the style factor a bit, and you are good to go.

Informal

Cocktail - This is for a dressier event like a Work Christmas Party or New Years Eve at a special venue. A knee length (can be slightly above or below too) dress in a dressier fabric is your best bet. A nicely tailored pair of dress pants and dressier top would work too. Again, don't forget the accessories.

Formal - This is where the long dress or skirt comes out to play. If you must do a shorter style, make sure the dress is VERY dressy and somewhat elaborate. Lots of sparkly accessories and a glam pair of heels finish this look off.
