The Colour of 2012

For those of you out there who can't seem to break away from basic black, this is defineitly going to take you out of your comfort zone - so, get ready for it! The HOT colour for 2012 is....

Described by Pantone (the world renowned authority on colour) as a" spirited reddish orange", Tangerine Tango is a "fun, lively take on a traditional autumnal hue, and will surely carry through to fall fashion as well".

Now, as someone who makes a living analyzing the best colours for individuals based on their skin tone, eye, and hair colour, I am the first to admit this isn't the best colour for everyone to wear. If that's you (and it is me), but you can't resist to giving in to this tangerine toned trend, there are other ways to do it...

Try it in your accessories (as long as they aren't near your face). A funky set of bangle bracelets, a cocktail ring, statement belt, or a new handbag are all great options.

Do it in your footwear. Whether it is a pair of sassy sandals or glam heels, this colour will add some fun to an overall neutral outfit.

One super easy and impactful way to try this colour trend, and the one I know I'll be doing for sure for Spring/Summer 2012 is in my nail polish.

Lastly, if you have a neutral complexion (mix of cool and warm tones), you can try it in your makeup. From a sheer blush or eyeshadow, to a light lip gloss. By the way, orange is a great complementary colour to bring out blue or green eyes.
